October 2019. An Imposed Hiatus.

“An imposed hiatus!”

Those puzzled by this void in my verbal perambulations should now know that I have been confined to a hospital bed, and in no mood to amuse my readers let alone myself. Hospitals are too often an entrance to the underworld, and only on reflection a place where you can be redeemed. It is my intention to return to this Blog and appraise you of the Italian health system, which may be something of a contrast to your own. However, in doing so I promise not to mention the minutiae of my own medical discontent.

I shall be back in November, hopefully in the wake of Oliver Cromwell’s words to Parliament:

“You are grown intolerably odious to the whole nation. You were deputed here by the people to get grievances redressed, are yourself become the greatest grievance. In the name of God, go!”
